My name is Richard Patrick Hicks. No one calls me Richard, unless it's the first day of school.
In fact, when the phone rings and someone asks for Richard, I know I'll be hanging up in a hurry. I use R. Patrick Hicks as my pen name because there are other Patrick Hicks' out there writing as well. I love animals, but cats best of all. My favorite color is green. I am a Sagittarius and I like long walks on the beach. Hell, I like long walks.
I live and work in Reno, Nevada, but I'm always looking to visit somewhere I haven't been. I need to get to Africa. It is the last continent I need to set foot on. Africa will be the seventh and last continent I need to visit.
I am finally publishing my first book. For years, people have been telling me I need to write down the tales of my adventures. I haven't gotten around to writing down the truth of my life, because the constant parade of fictitious tales that run through my brain is of much greater interest to me.
I hope you like this story and the ones to follow. They will not all be as creepy as this one, but I suspect they will all have a bit of creep to them. As beautiful as the world is, it sure can be a scary place.
